Not late to enter our 8th – Blogworks completes seven years today.

I had just finished presenting our approach at an important pitch for a global brand day-before yesterday and had now requested the client team to share their feedback. The head of India operations said “We have been meeting other teams who we had invited for the pitch, but this is the first time anyone has shared a presentation capturing Love, Art and Conversations”.  The  Head of Marketing added, “One of your peers who presented last week asked us who else we were meeting and I shared your name. They exchanged looks amongst each-other and said- They are good.” It is comments like these that continue to guide our path.

We have come to be known as the Conversation Specialists, our social story-telling has found resonance with some of the most valuable global brands whom we work with and hope to work with.

This year, we participated in Industry Awards for the first time and have so far won 10+ awards and certificates of merit between our work on Mahindra – Spark the Rise and Allen Solly, including an e4m IDMA Gold for Integrated work, Gold Sabre, Silver Sabre by Holmes Report, Campaign India silver among others.

We launched two high impact monthly syndicated reports this year:

Both of these have been received very well and are quoted heavily in the media. At least two other industry verticals will follow shortly.  We want these reports and leader-boards to become ‘currency’ in respective industries.

Also on the insights side we took a leap forward with our new ‘go-to-market insights’ offering, helping clients understand the brand, consumers and markets with a combination of listening, asking and rich profiling.

Our presence in Mumbai is opening up new opportunities for us and allowing us easier access to verticals that we have a key interest in and will add to our growth story strongly this year.
We are constantly moving up on the value curve on one hand, and on the other are now providing comprehensive integrated services on social, search and mobile, ranging from strategy, insights to social content and cutting edge social design.

It would be quite safe to say that it’s not  late, to enter our 8th ;).

Let me leave you with some work and ideas from this year.

Ideas for India – #CleanIndia

We believe, people have to be brought in to change India’s destiny. Can we co-opt the change-maker in all of us and join the movement to create a better future for all of us?

With that core thought we are launching a new content series today, seeding a set of ‘Ideas for India’, for any organisation to take forward, with, or without, our help.

We kick-start the series with ‘Clean India’.

Can cleaning the community lead to a cleansing of the collective conscience and a corruption free country?

See the video and tell us what you think. Share this one liberally.

If you are a brand, corporate, not-for-profit, agency, group of individuals and want to adopt this idea, please feel free to do so. Make it happen.

Top Gun!

For many of my generation, Top Gun remains THE cult movie – fighter pilots, good looking guys and girls, winners, the best-of-the best.  I visualised the same when I first conceived Blogworks – the best-of-the-best in our profession, coming together, getting better each day; knowledge and learning at the very center of our journey.

So, Top Gun, as the gamified knowledge and learnings programme happened quite naturally. However, it took a fair amount of effort to see that all team members got a fair opportunity to win points, badges and be celebrated, within, and, outside of the organisation.

From Top Gun Metal, to eventually becoming a Top Gun Instructor  the programme rewards proactive action in acquiring, contributing to and sharing of knowledge (informal and formal), while penalising inaction. Every step forward in our journey towards learning and knowledge adds to points, and no steps forward, are considered a step backwards.

Here’s a video that give you a glimpse. Tell me what you think :)

Since the site is behind a wall, here is a glimpse into the leaderboard and Top Gun badges. Do you have it in you? ;)

Narendra Modi continues to be most mentioned on social media, Nitish Kumar enters the top 5 at the 4th position in the June 2013 edition of #IndiasMostMentioned

Blogworks has released the third edition of its monthly India’s Most Mentioned Political Leaders index, analysing the Top 20 Most Mentioned Political Leaders online for the period June 2013. The first edition of the report was for the duration January – April 2013, folowed by the second edition in May 2013.

The report serves as a barometer of public mood and conversations about the top political leaders on social media in India, which become particularly significant as social media conversations around possible candidates for the top positions in the 2014 general elections have been .

Here are some highlights from the report:

  • Narendra Modi continues to be at the top of the most mentioned political leaders index with almost five times more buzz than LK Advani at the 2nd position.

Buzz - June

  • ‘Development and Economy’ which was the plank on which Narendra Modi had entered conversations has dropped over a period of time. Even though in June 2013, this theme has jumped up, when compared to May, however total mentions under the theme have witnessed a decline. ‘Law, order and internal affairs’ is driving more conversations now as compared to ‘Development and economy’.
  • Nitish Kumar who dropped to the 17th position in May 2013, climbed up to the 4th position in June 2013. This was the first time in past five months, Nitish Kumar made it to the top 5 Most Mentioned Political Leaders list.
  • Arvind Kejriwal, who was the 5th most mentioned politician in our January – April 2013 report, dropped to the 6th position in the month of May, and now saw a further dip to the 7th position in June 2013.
  • Prime Minister Manmohan Singh dropped out of top 5 list, to 6th position in June 2013.
